This delicate necklace looks as though it is floating around your neck. And the color combination makes it so versatile, you could wear it everyday.

Each of the small square beads are handmade in Italy using a technique dating back to the 13th century. The beads are formed by melting glass canes over an open torch flame, encasing that with gold foil and then melting colored glass over the foil. This technique gives each bead a depth and sparkle not found in other beads.

The necklace is handmade in my studio overlooking the redwoods of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Each bead is suspended in place on gold beadng wire and appear as though they are floating around the neck.

The gold beading wire is extremely strong and is coated in nylon. The color will not wear off or tarnish. It is recommended that you store the necklace by gently wrapping it up or hanging it. The wire can get kinks in it if it is mishandled.

The color combination of blue, purple and gold make this a piece that you can wear with many outfits. Each of the beads has gold foil underneath the colored glass so the colors have a warm tone to them.It is very delicate, perfect for sprng or summer worn with a t-shirt or a nice summer dress. The color combination looks great on many skintones. The necklace is about 17" in length and is clasped with an easy to use spring ring. It can be made in different lengths - just email me for your request. Matching earrings are also available for the perfect set. Each necklace will come in a reusable gold gift bag and will include a card explaining the techniques of Venetian glass beadmaking.
